America in all its Glory

Mabry Mill, Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia

What a gorgeous shot of Mabry Mill in the Blue Ridge Mountains (Virginia). Such a peaceful, serene setting.

Sitting on the edge of the water. Taking a worm and baiting it on the hook of a line that is attached to a long, thin tree branch. Gently "cast" the line into the water. Now to sit quietly, watching the dragonflies skip across the surface of the calm water. Listening to the frogs calling to one another. All the thoughts of your daily life are no longer with you - all you are thinking about at this moment is the beauty of the trees, where they simply meld into the banks of the water.

Who cares if you ever get a nibble on your line. Just to enjoy this moment that you will never live again. That is life!

Every crime committed by an illegal immigrant should never have happened!!!

Read my posting under Illegal Immigrants.

A quote from President Theodore Roosevelt addressed on immigration in 1907:

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American ... There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag ... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty, and that is a loyalty to the American people."

LIKE OLD TIMES FOR PARIS

Yup, Paris has certainly changed her ways and repented!!
By ELIZABETH WOLFF
July 15, 2007 -- So much for the redemptive powers of prison. Paris Hilton is back to the same old debutante debauchery - and seems to have learned nothing from her three weeks in the clink.

After announcing to the nation that prison “changed my life forever,” the celebutard has spent the last three weeks regressing to her wild-child ways.

In her post-prison interviews, she said, “I’m not a big drinker,” but staggered home appearing drunk just a few days ago; she said “no” when asked whether she had ever tried drugs, but exited a car allegedly amid a cloud of pot smoke last week; she said she’d rather “raise awareness . . . instead of superficial things like going out,” but has continued to party into the wee hours; and she said there were “a lot more important things to do in [her] life,” but seems to have fallen into her old shopaholic habits.

Here’s how she’s spent the last 19 days since her release from the Century Regional Detention Center:

JUNE:

26: Out of jail. Facial, pedicure, manicure and 20-inch hair extensions. Interview and photo shoot for People magazine.

27: Makeover, then Larry King interview, in which she lies about her previous drug use.

28: Boards an early Maui bound flight in a bizarre black wig and straw hat.

29: Beach time, then shopping at Banana Republic.

30: Splashes in the water and eats poolside with friend Ashley Scott.

JULY:

1: Spends over $4,000 in 30 minutes at a Wailea shopping center.

2: Shoe-shops, chats on cell, buys ice cream, tans on beach.

3: Gets back behind the wheel, donning her blue contact lenses. Picks up an iPhone and moves into Malibu summer rental.

4: Has a party. Jared Leto and Kevin Connolly show up. Crashes party at Polaroid Beach House, upstaging Lindsay Lohan.

5: Acting lessons in Bel-Air.

6: Alex von Furstenberg’s dinner party, then a bar, then club Les Deux, where witnesses say marijuana smoke billowed in her wake.

7: Leaves the club for a party in the Hills and gets home at 4 a.m.

8: Announces her summer reading list: the Bible and “The Secret.”

9: Dinner with “Simple Life” co-star Nicole Richie. Goes to see Michael Moore’s “Sicko.”

10: After massage and sugar rub, she models her new sportswear collection: T-shirt with a pic of her on it.

11: Meets with Macy’s execs to discuss her denim line. Hits Koi and Terrace Room, then LeBron James’ ESPN Awards after-party.

12: At 5:30 a.m., a barefoot Paris staggers out of a taxi outside her Malibu beach house.

13: Attends the Lia Sophia Dinner party in Malibu.

It is somewhere along the BlueRidge Parkway. I am sure if you google it, you will be able to bring it up. I think I found this on webshots.com
